Programme Coordinator – 1 year fixed term role

We are seeking an individual to provide programme coordination for multiple projects and programmes within our network. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude and proactively apply an organisation wide approach. Te Awakairangi Health Network is a primary care network focussed on achieving equity and improving the quality of our health services for whānau living in the Hutt Valley. We work with general practices and community service providers to promote and empower people to receive the healthcare services they need and deserve.

Mō te tūnga | The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Coordinator to join our Programme and Practice Development team. This team supports general practice and other providers in the provision of good quality, integrated and equitable primary care.

As the Programme Coordinator you will work across multiple projects that develop, deliver, and extend the health services offered to our local population. You will have input to programme development and continuous improvement for service and workforce delivery.

This role will include supporting the General Manager of our Programme and Practice Development Team to lead the implementation of a complex integrated work programme. All of our work is underpinned by a Tiriti o Waitangi focus and equity lens.

To be successful in this position you will be a dynamic and enthusiastic team player with the following skills and attributes:

  • A strong project and programme coordination background.
  • A desire to improve knowledge.
  • Have effective relationship building and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders, general practices and internal staff within our organisation.
  • A well organised, self-starter who thrives in a team environment with an eye for detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • This is a 1-year fixed term role due to a secondment.

Mōu | About you

Essential skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills – able to establish, build and maintain respectful, effective working relationships with all stakeholders to accomplish goals.
  • Strong and effective communication skills capable of maintaining strong relationships.
  • Competence in the Microsoft suite especially Word, Excel, and Project (or equivalent products).
  • Accurately and clearly convey timely information and ideas, using a style and manner of presentation appropriate to the target audience.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.

Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Experience in a primary care setting.
  • Knowledge of general practice and business processes.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement and quality monitoring framework.
  • Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga.
