Enrolment Process

Why Enrol?

  • Doctor visits are cheaper when you are enrolled in one practice
  • Children under the age of 14 have free healthcare
  • Your practice will help you to stay healthy by getting to know you and your health, and providing you with regular check-ups
  • Free interpretation services available if needed

How to Enrol?

  • Healthcare sometimes uses words that people are not familiar with.  General Practitioner is the name for a doctor who takes care of all your healthcare needs outside of hospital.  The place they work can be called a general practice, a health centre, a medical centre or a clinic.
  • When you have decided which general practice you would like to enrol with, it is a good idea to call them to check if they are open to new patients and how you can enrol.  Some practices have enrolment information on their practice website.
  • When you enrol with a practice you will need to provide identification that confirms your identity and residency status.  Find information about your eligibility here.
  • If you are changing general practices, your medical records will be transferred to your new practice upon completion of your enrolment form.
