Healthy in the Hutt Event Showcases our Clinical Team

On Saturday 17 June, a bustling Healthy in the Hutt event was run at Walter Nash stadium by the Eastern Rotary.   The event brought together several providers from across the Hutt Valley to provide information to the local communities.

Two Te Awakairangi Health Network clinical team members attended the event to represent several of our clinical services. Jo Rothbaum (pictured) is a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) at High Street Health Hub and Andre Stanton is a mental health Counsellor in our Wellbeing Team.

HIPs are part of a larger health and wellbeing team based in general practices throughout the Hutt Valley and include Health Coaches and Community Support Workers to provide brief action focused consults in a general practice setting.

The Wellbeing team deliver face to face and virtually counselling options to rangitahi age 12 to 26 years and priority populations over 26 years.  This includes the Piki service.

The event offered the opportunity to engage with a wide range of people as they walked through the information stands which included a free healthy lunch, free vaccination, blood pressure checks, Bee Healthy dental service, and Regional Public health Healthy Homes Service among others.
